A native of the Pacific Northwest, Matthew has lived in Washington his whole life. Growing up homeschooled in a family of nine, he is very famililar with the conservative Christian environment. He now attends Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, where he is majoring in business administration. He wants to explore numerous fields and interests in his career and plans to attend graduate school.

Matthew is passionate about all things related to the Christian faith, church, and American evangelicalism. He has long held a fascination with economics (hence the business major) and finds uncommon joy in academic exercises that challenge one to think. He still holds obnoxious hope that the Mariners will make the playoffs one day. He is a pianist and musician, playing on worship teams at multiple churches and performing with the Northwest University Symphony Orchestra (NUSO).
